Blessing or
lesson?

There are times in life
when we question God; why things happen or why particular people had to come
into our lives. I know I have. In the midst of that thought or question, I had
my answer. The Lord doesn’t speak to me in a roaring voice, or even by a holy
revelation but by my heart, where I know it’s HIM. He uses my life and it’s
events to understand why things happen. Crazy right? There are people that we
meet that God placed to be with us for our lifetime. Those people are those who
we know that aside from God, we can count on, maybe, a friend? Or parents? Or a
family member? The word of God speaks of a friendship between Jonathan and
David In *1 Samuel 18:1
“As soon as he had finished
speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and
Jonathan loved him as his own soul.”
This verse speaks of a
friendship that was so great that these two considered themselves as one.
And
another verse that I really like that speaks about friendship is *Proverbs
18:24;
“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
but
there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
Both of these verses are verifying that there are
people meant to stick with us no matter what. And I love that.
Then there are people that
are meant to be in our lives for a short while. To give an example, for me I
relate this while I was in school, but you can relate this to when you were
working in particular place or you moved or whatever the case, there are people
that I meet and were in my life for the time that school lasted and eventually
both of us moved on to new things. No, there wasn’t any kind of fight or
argument but simple that both of us fulfilled the purpose we were meant to
complete in each other’s lives and most times no longer see each other. The
bible says that there is a time and place for everything in *Ecclesiastes 3:
1-9
“There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity
under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to
die,
a time to plant and a time to
uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to
build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to
dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time
to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to
refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give
up,
a time to keep and a time to throw
away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to
speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for
peace.”
As the verse says, there is a time a place for
everything and I believe this is also true for people that come in our lives.
Then we have people who are the reason why we may
even question the Lord, those people who have came into our lives and have
simply cause chaos and even hurt us. We may even go and say that the devil
brought these people to us and maybe so, but God sometimes allows these things
to happen. Maybe you’re thinking, “why would God do that to me?” because I have
asked this myself. But I truly believe everything happens for a reason. These
people may hurt us but at the end, we become stronger and even wiser. We learn
a lesson. Maybe we tend to trust to quickly, or get carried away in a situation
and we do not think before we act or sometimes we just need a wake up call.
In Romans 8:28 says the following,
“And we know that all things work together for good to
those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
No matter what the case may be, people come into our
lives for a specific purpose and if we trust in God, everything will work out
the way it is suppose to. Maybe we will get hurt in this life but we will be
stronger for it. I know that God will give me the opportunities one day to help
others that may face the same things I have. Yeah, I have had people hurt me
but I am a stronger person for it. We have to take everything as a lesson to
grow. And knowing when to let go of people that may be wrong for us; not everyone
we meet is meant to be with us forever, some only come for a short time.
But we should never forget to give thanks to God for
the blessings he has given us who are our friends, our family and anyone else
special to us. <3
God bless. <3
